when the kids are away, the adults will play

Who can forget the good ol' summer days of Kick the Can in the backyard? I have some pretty good memories of running all over the neighbors' yards trying not to get caught and if I do say so myself, I remember being pretty good. :) Brandon remembers playing Kick the Can as well. He doesn't recall doing a whole lot of kicking, however. He was more interested in hiding with the girls.

I'm a little embarrassed to say it, but last night, us and three neighbor couples played Kick in the Can. What a blast! It was very funny seeing adults hiding in window wells, dog kennels, foot high weeds (not in our yard, for the record), and in narrow spaces behind sheds.

We are not exactly old fogies yet, but few us had actually sprinted much in the last five years. There was much panting and even a few collisions. In a race for the can, Brandon knocked me over (for the record, I did end up kicking the can and freeing those in prison) and also rammed into Kevin Green (which resulted in Kevin sitting out a couple games - Brandon sends his apologies). I learned that Brandon has a no-mercy mentality when it comes to winning a foot race.
