it was a good one

It was a good Thanksgiving. Lots of food, lots of family, lots of fun. Here are some picture highlights:

Trying to make a basket while lying on their backs. Dick actually did it!

Tacy and Julie do the Macarena. The dance fest got started after Grandma Cheryl tried to teach the grandchildren the Chicken Dance. Once the Chicken Dance music was on, however, the grandchildren sat around embarrassed while all the adults danced around the house.

All the grandkids (minus a Tucker and a Claire, with the addition of a Jack) coloring with Grandma. Once again, my child has his shirt off. Zach doesn't color with clothes on.

This isn't the best picture, but it best depicts a Tucker Thanksgiving - GAMES! This year Nertz, Double Diamond Bumper Board Monopoly, and Presidency were featured. Presidency even had a round where King Jeff had everyone speaking like Mickey Mouse - complete with the giggle and everything.

UTAH 48 byu 24

I just wanted to share this little gem. The image is of Paul Kruger recovering a Max Hall fumble while Hall watches from the turf. This was one of six turnovers from the far-from-perfect QB. In fact, Utah had 107 return yards off Hall's interceptions, making the Utah Defense the leading receiver for BYU. Way to go, UTES!

like mother, like son

I must have been a difficult child because when Zach was born, all good-natured and loveable, my family kept telling me how much he was like Brandon. *hmpf* I really do get it a lot: “Zach looks just like Brandon”, “Zach has Brandon’s sweet personality”, “Zach is so easy-going, just like Brandon”. The only traits that get attributed to my genes are the not-so-pleasant ones. *hmpf* Well, the other day, Brandon pointed out something somewhat positive that Zach and I share - a love of country music. I’m not sure that’s what I would have chosen to pass on to my progeny, but I’ll take what I can get.

Zach’s always been a mover and a groover, but he will really start boogin’ when a country song comes on. When driving, I will look in my rear view mirror and he will be performing his customary cow-milking dance moves (see an earlier May 12 blog entry if you don't know what I'm talking about) to the country tune on the radio.

I think I might have the next Alan Jackson on my hands.

LOL

I was looking in the FREE section of the KSL classifieds this evening, procrastinating writing a research paper for school, and came across this listing.

HA HA HA HA

And once again, I procrastinate the writing of my paper and instead write a pointless blog post.

it is a MIRACLE

I can remember hauling 2 by 4's in the house for the basement back when I was pregnant with Zach. Thus began the basement finishing. Zach turned 2 in September, so that makes him... hmm... carry the 1... 2 years 2 months old. I am proud to report that the basement is FINALLY FINISHED(ish). It took a stink'n lot of time. Family and friends are probably relieved they no longer have to hear the latest basement update when they talk to us. I admit, I am happy I no longer have anything to report. B's excited to use the basement. I am excited to be able to sit on my rear end in the evenings and not have to be in the basement.

Below is a pic of our family room in the basement (decorating to ensue shortly):
This is a picture of a miracle.

batman... actually boy in a bat costume
