I was looking at my pictures from the last month and came across the following gems. What cracked me up is that person who did not know what was happening in the picture might label it differently than I would, knowing the circumstances behind the shot.

For instance...

Outsider's Label: The kids playing

My Label: Zach in time out

The story: Zach had hit Halle once again with something (pick an item in your home, Zach has hit Halle with it). He got sent to time out. Halle, being the forgiving soul that she is, decides she still wants to play with Zach. She travels to Zach in time out. They start playing and giggling. I had to grab my camera because it was so dang cute. I don't think my point about not hitting Halle grabbed Zach's attention this time.

Outsider's Label: Halle picking her nose

My Label: Halle's new trick!

The story: Halle has been really fascinated with the inside of her nose. This act could be considered picking her nose, a yucky habit for older kids (or older adults), but I choose to look at it as a new trick. Do you know how hard it is for an 11-month wobbly walker to successfully get a skinny thing into a hole while teetering around the room? Now that takes talent! Still, I'm not a huge fan of this new trick and am currently trying to teach her a more publically acceptable one. I'm up for suggestions.

Halle the walker!

Halle is walking!! I have been looking forward to this day. Zach loves to have a running buddy and up to this point, I have been it. However... as soon as Halle moves a little quicker, she can take my spot and I can resume a sitting position!

Halle is getting braver every day. She'll now let go of the couch and venture out on her own.
